“This internship made me who I am and who I will be in this field”
— Winter/Spring Social Work Intern, 2021
Thanks to Laura Fry and Amy Alderson I have been able to accomplish 2 solid years of recovery. There are many others who helped and supported me thru my struggles but I was fortunate to have two angels on my side that jumped when I finally asked for help. I’m very proud and very happy to be free of my demons.

Good Morning,
My name is [REDACTED], and I was in a program at [REDACTED]. In December I joined the CARE program, I had lost my job due to the pandemic and also lost my medical coverage. I could not afford the program, so Jennifer introduced me to an Angel named Alex. Alex and I became phone friends. Alex listened to the struggles and challenges I was having making my appointment and paying for my medication. I can speak nothing but good things about this young man, who extended himself over and beyond to help me. I just want the organization that he is employed with to know that he is outstanding and he deserve to recognized and rewarded for his service. I pray that his recognition is announced to the entire company, because, Alex is what excellence look like.
When this pandemic is over, I want to buy him lunch so that I can meet this angel that was assigned to me by God.

Over the last two years I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with Live4Lali’s Executive director, Chelsea Laliberte, as well as many other Live4Lali board members, operations team members, and supporters. Their dedication to the cause and their work is admirable and authentic. Chelsea in particular is extremely knowledgeable about the cause, the changes that need to be made, and effective ways to see them through. She demonstrates leadership, professionalism, and focus. Live4Lali has set the standards high for grassroots drug awareness advocacy efforts in the Chicago land area through their successful events and progressive curriculum. They have been a pleasure to work with and a beneficial partner to myself, the organization I work with, and the cause.
— Cassandra Wingert, Executive Director of Wake the Nation
As one of the cofounders of the Lake County Heroin/Opioid Prevention Task Force I can say with certainty that our organization would not had been able to achieve what we have in the battle to save live lives through response, treatment and education without the passion and dedication of of Live4lali and there founder and one of our cofounders Chelsea Laliberte. Her dedication to this cause and willingness to listen and learn about law enforcements perspective, and in turn educate us has had a personal impact on me as a career law enforcement officer
— Chief George Filenko, Round Lake Park Police Department, Lake County Major Crime Task Force
Live4Lali has been an instrumental partner in our struggle against the opioid epidemic affecting Lake County. Chelsea and her team at Live4Lali do fantastic work in our county in the area of overdose prevention education. Live4Lali has been a great partner in our prevention efforts, is an incredibly valuable resource, and I have a great deal of respect for what they do.

After spending a year working with Live4Lali on the issues surrounding heroin usage and overdose, their heartfelt compassion is apparent. Live4Lali offers great insight into our growing heroin problem – but more importantly, they are working on solutions.
— Illinois Senator Melinda Bush, 31st State Senate District
I have had the pleasure to collaborate and partner with Live4Lali on many occasions. Executive Director and Founder Ms. Chelsea Laliberte’s passion to help save lives is nothing less than remarkable. She is the very definition of “a force for positive change”. A core group of dedicated “team members” brought the concept of an initiative to prevent heroin and opioid overdose deaths in Lake County, Illinois and Ms. Laliberte was at the top of that list, passionately working for prevention, education, and harm reduction efforts in order to save lives. Live4Lali has worked tirelessly for the voiceless many who have suffered the loss of a loved one or struggle with addiction and recovery.
— Bruce Johnson, CEO, Nicasa Behavioral Health Services
As chair of the Youth Heroin Use Task Force, I’ve had the honor of working with Live4Lali over the past few years on an issue that is critical to the health and safety of communities statewide. Awareness and prevention efforts are vital to mitigating the opioid epidemic that is affecting young people in the Chicagoland area. Live4Lali provides resources and advocacy in a way that is passionate, personal, and effective. I’m proud to work with Live4Lali and I look forward to collaborating with them to improve the lives of families in our community.
