Information technology (IT) INTERN
Substance use disorder has become a devastating epidemic with 190 Americans dying every day from an accidental drug overdose. According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, in 2019, 2,098 people in Illinois died from opioid-related overdoses. Overdose death is currently the number one cause of accidental death, surpassing car accidents, gun violence, and suicide for the 3rd year in a row.
Live4Lali has been serving suburban Chicago for over ten years providing critical prevention, education, treatment access, support programs, community solutions-building initiatives, harm reduction, and overdose prevention services to decrease the devastating toll of the opioid epidemic.
Mission: Live4Lali works to reduce stigma and prevent substance use disorder among individuals, families, and communities, and minimize the overall health, legal and social harms associated with substance use.
Live4Lali is seeking an enthusiastic Information Technology Intern to help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our Information Technology program. This position is a unique opportunity to build tangible skills and contribute your ideas and energy to improve our organization’s information technology resources and programs. The Information Technology Intern will work as part of the Operations Team to provide technology support, innovations and project implementation for website, email, virtual meetings, data management and other technology programs.
Live4Lali is looking for candidates with experience and/or training in IT support systems, email platform implementation and management, and virtual meeting technical support.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
· Assisting with website and email platform migration from GoDaddy to Google Workspace
· Creating data and email backup processes
· Scoping, project planning and system support for virtual meetings and conferences
· Assist with organizational IT risk assessment
· Providing training and support to the operations and program teams
· Experience working with Google Workspace and systems
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Intermediate computer literacy (Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
· Website and email system management
· Knowledge of HIPAA compliance within IT programs
Approximately 15-20 hours per week
In adhering to Live4Lali’s COVID-19 safety policies, interns will work remotely using web-based and telephone communication, with light transportation until it is safe to return to office-based working structures.
Live4Lali provides a stipend to all interns.
